All complemented by a CIM knowledge community web site offering online content support and shared resources. Using this combined approach, users can help build a solid technology knowledge foundation and support base to begin using Cisco internetworking products. The CIM – Router Basics product includes HTML-formatted information technologies and methodologies used in Cisco internetworking equipment.
This includes an overview of the Cisco Internetwork Operating System (Cisco IOS) command line interface (CLI); routing principles; Routing Information Protocol (RIP); and Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), a well-known and widely used set of protocols implemented today throughout the Internet and intranets. These technology concepts coupled with both textual and audio tutorials are reinforced in network simulation configuration labs allowing users to interact with the Cisco CLI-no hardware connection required. Within this highly realistic interface and network simulation environment, (CIM-SE) the user will learn to navigate within the Cisco IOS CLI, configure a Cisco mid-range router for basic operation, and configure RIP to establish connectivity between the routers. The user is given background information, reference links, and configuration and troubleshooting tasks to perform, applying the same methodologies used by Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) engineers.
